The five character Nodwick set is based upon the long running comic of the same name.

    From the original website:[1]

Through a special deal with Aaron Williams (where we do all the work) and Cheapass Games (where they take all the credit) we can now bring you the long awaited Nodwick Buttonmen set!

    According to Bryce Nakagawa:

Richard, a guy I played a LOT of Button Men with, was the driving force behind it. He had taken the initiative to get in contact with [Aaron Williams] and asked about the licensing terms. He worked out a deal that looked reasonable and we got to work figuring out what to do. Based on the stats I had been seeing online and personal experience playing in and running tournaments, I knew I wanted to do something that would slow down speed dice. We [playtested the buttons] by playing our designs against a handful of high performing buttons; it seemed balanced enough to us at the time.

Richard and I shared a love of collecting dice and that some of the big unwieldy dice had inspired a thought about making a set devoted to button men with huge dice. We never got past the concept stage, unfortunately. The fundamental problem is that once you get past d20s skill attacks become almost impossible and it's just a test of who rolls better.
